Central Catholic High School - Auditorium Renovations
Work commenced to modernize the auditorium of the Flemish Gothic-style building located on Fifth Avenue, a designated historic landmark in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood. Massaro Corporation was contracted to restore the 900-seat performing arts facility to its original appearance, while including modern features to enhance school functions and performances.
The project scope included cleaning the red brick and restoring painted surfaces to their original grandeur. In addition, the orange, blue, and green colored slats in the ceiling were cleaned.
The theatre also received a new air conditioning system, new theatre-style seats, a state-of-the-art sound system that utilizes linear array speakers set in clusters throughout the room, and a computer-controlled lighting and rigging system. The project was completed in August 2005.
