Caryl Gates Gluck Resource Center
The Caryl Gates Gluck Resource Center, located on Camp Horne Road in Pittsburgh's North Hills, includes a state-of-the art medical suite, innovative animal caging and housing arrangements and an education wing complete with interactive classroom, resource library and pet-assisted therapy and wellness suite.
Massaro began construction of the 29,000 square foot facility in December 2004. The center, located on Camp Horne Road in Pittsburgh's North Hills, includes a state-of-the art medical suite, innovative animal caging and housing arrangements, and an education wing complete with interactive classroom, resource library and pet-assisted therapy and wellness suite. Animal Friends also includes a retail shop on the premises.
In addition, the facility includes fenced-in play areas and indoor socialization rooms for volunteers and nearly a mile of walking trails for volunteers, pet owners, and visitors. The site amenities include a new 120 foot bridge across Lowries Run Creek, which required coordination between Massaro and the NPDE, and a high pressure gas line was relocated. Also several large parking lots were included in the project scope.
